SUPPORTING FOALS IN DISTRESS
All nutrients are broken down in the fore-gut (stomach) and absorbed through the hind-gut (intestines, colon). Whatever the source of the distress, after mare's colostrum, good nutrition (and the delivery thereof) is the most important factor to consider. The liquid formulations are easy to administer - even the powder can be mixed with a bit of applesauce to give to a foal through a dosing syringe!
All formulations can be adjusted up or down according to weight. Most formulations, for safety precautions and because no testing is done with mares in foal, state not recommended for mares in foal. Consult with your veterinarian regarding any natural products. If you choose to use an all natural supplement, educate yourself on each ingredient!
